Case Closed:

The case of the reluctant Perry Mason, described in TV Guide last week, has been settled out of court.  The verdict: Raymond Burr will be back as Mason next season and perhaps for several more years.  His differences with Gail Patrick Jackson, producer of CBS's Perry Mason, were ironed out last week, after Burr had declared that he was going to quite because of overwork.  Burr told TV Guide:  " Mrs. Jackson, Paisano Productions, CBS and I reviewed very carefully

all of the production problems of the show and agreed that the quality of the show could be maintained and still allow a better working schedule for me.  This does not mean that I am going to appear less on the show, but rather that the schedule will work better for me.  After reviewing this whole situation, all of us happily agreed to continue together for next year and possibly more."
